Where is Rozett’s Nursery located?
15-1521 28th Avenue, Keaau, HI 96749 — corner of Kaloli and 28th in Hawaiian Paradise Park. About 15 minutes south of downtown Hilo.
What are Rozett’s Nursery’s hours?
Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed Sundays.
Do I need an appointment?
No — walk in any time. We’re open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
What kinds of plants does Rozett’s Nursery carry?
Fruit trees, palms, flowering and shade trees, privacy hedges and screening options, bedding plants, ground covers, herbs, vegetable starts, houseplants, bromeliads, orchids, hibiscus, bamboo, and specialty/specimen plants. Plus soil, fertilizer, and amendments.
Is the nursery dog-friendly?
Yes, we welcome well-behaved dogs on the leash.
Do you carry rare or specimen plants?
Yes. We have rare palms, hybridized specialty bromeliads, ethnobotanically significant natives, and other one-of-a-kind pieces.
Do you take returns?
Living plants are tricky. We stand behind what we sell — if a plant dies in the first 14 days and you’ve followed our care guidance, talk to us. Keep your receipt. We work it out case by case.
Do you do landscape consultations?
Yes. We can walk your property with you and help you plan plant choices, layout, hedges, lawns, fruit-tree orchards, and the rest. Call or drop by to schedule.
Do you offer workshops or classes
Yes — educational workshops, free seminars, and the Saturday Market happen throughout the year. Sign up for the newsletter at the bottom of the page to know when the next one is.
Do you have a wholesale or contractor program?
No formal program, but we work with builders, landscapers, and large-scale gardeners regularly. Call or drop by to discuss your project.
What grows well in Hawai’i?
Good news: a lot. Fruit trees (mango, avocado, lychee, citrus, breadfruit), palms (areca, kentia, fishtail, sealing wax), bamboo, bromeliads, orchids, hibiscus, ti, and most flowering tropicals do well across the island. The trick is matching the right plant to your specific lot — sun exposure, drainage and microclimate.
